I am Ahmed Al-Tom, a physician specializing in internal medicine, currently residing and working in Germany. My interests extend into the fields of philosophy, logic, and contemporary sciences. Due to the nature of my studies in neuroscience, I have been deeply immersed in these areas, which eventually led me into the world of scientific research. Recently, I have focused particularly on the field of cognitive biases. Thanks to my experience in scientific research and publishing in international journals, I possess strong research skills that enable me to comprehend, analyze, and filter studies and extract information from primary sources. This has recently allowed me to understand and analyze foundational research in the fields of neuroscience and psychology—especially regarding cognitive biases, an area in which I found no comparable purely Arabic research. Therefore, I dedicated myself to reading, analyzing, and selecting the best studies to present in this book before you. I am pleased to present to you the manuscript of my first book, titled “A Blind Mind”, hoping to earn the honor of having it published under the umbrella of your esteemed publishing house. I have followed your publishing house's journey with great interest and appreciate the valuable works you provide to enrich the Arabic library. My belief that this work aligns with your vision and commitment to quality is what motivated me to choose you as my first choice for publication. My manuscript, which I have attached for your review, is titled “A Blind Mind”. It is the first of its kind in the Arabic library to address the phenomenon of cognitive biases—those mental distortions and illogical thinking processes that affect our decisions. These biases arise from the brain’s physical and chemical structure and lead us to make erroneous judgments that impact various aspects of our lives. The book offers a detailed exploration of published research studies on cognitive biases, aiming to introduce readers to the role of these ingrained biases in our brains through accessible language and simplified examples, and how they influence our behavior and decision-making quality. Additionally, the book presents definitions, examples, and studies conducted on these biases, helping the reader develop a deep understanding of their nature and mechanisms. This work is the result of a year and a half of intensive research during which I investigated the latest studies and findings published in international journals concerning cognitive biases across various fields, with sources cited at the end of each section. I hereby confirm, as stipulated in your publishing terms, that this manuscript has not been previously published, and that it has been reviewed and proofread. I also commit not to approach any other publishing house until I receive your kind response, whether accepting or declining the manuscript. With sincere thanks and appreciation, Ahmed Al-Tom
